Routine Weekend Palanca Needs

NEEDED EVERY WEEKEND:  These are the palanca that are routinely needed for every weekends.  Please contact the Chief Auxiliary if you can help or provide any of these:

  • Agape (including set up and clean up)
  • Auxiliary Aprons (decorated)
  • Rollo Room flowers
  • Rollo Room candle
  • Table candy for Rollo Room (chocolate and hard candy)
  • DeColores Cake
  • Liturgy breads and juice (5 loaves of bread; grape juice for 5 stations)
WRITTEN PALANCA

Please mail palanca to the Rector prior to the weekend or deliver it to the Marist Center as early as possible during the weekend.  Consider giving palanca to a team member in your area to take to the weekend if you will not be going yourself.  There will be a drop-off box near the entrance with the clock at the Marist Center.

Personal palanca:  Should be notes of encouragement to the candidates and team.  Remember that “palanca” means “lever” – they need to receive notes on Friday and Saturday to effectively use this lever.

“Dear Brother/Sister in Christ” notes:  Please remember to write some palanca to candidates you do not know and who do not have a large local community to support them.

SPECIAL NOTE:  The website contains the names of candidates on the weekend.  Please try to send palanca to several names on the list.

General Palanca:  Please consider writing a letter to be read in the rollo room.  Pins, banners, bookmarks, small crafts and gifts are always welcome.

KITCHEN PALANCA

Please call the Head Kitchen Aux to provide break room foods and drinks. You can now also sign up to SERVE MEALS to the team and candidates and assist with setting up the break room. Plan on a 3-4 hour commitment as the job includes setting up, serving, clean up, and setting the tables for the next meal. The Head Kitchen Aux is the contact person for this duty.

NEW KITCHEN DUTY: We now also have a need for someone to volunteer to serve as the cook’s helper throughout the weekend. This job includes helping with all aspects of meal preparation and cleanup. Call the Head Kitchen Aux to volunteer.

MANANITA

Please gather at Mt. Alvernia at 7:00 am sharp in the dining room.  Auxiliaries are stationed to help direct.  Click here if you’d like to preview the words of the “Mananita” song,   NOTE:  Although not required, people attending the Mananita generally wear Sunday “church attire”.
